Jerred Hughes had five singles and three RBIs, and Chad Metzel had two doubles and two RBIs in Willamette's 20-hit attack. Grant Dahlgren was 3-for-4 with a double.

Tyler Martell was 2-for-3 with a double for Sheldon.

Brooks McKee had three singles and two RBIs and J.J. Mascolo had two doubles and an RBI as the No. 5-ranked Spartans improved to 8-2 in league.

Vaccaro was 4-for-6 with eight RBIs. Jon Bennett was 2-for-3 with a three-run homer and double for Cottage Grove.

Brookings 3, South Umpqua 0

BROOKINGS - Steve Dean and Tyler Parke combined to pitch a two-hitter with five strikeouts as the Bruins upset the No. 6-ranked Lancers.

Trico League

Monroe 12, Lowell 1

MONROE - Kevin Ballard was 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs, and Adam Opoien also drove in four runs as the Dragons (18-4, 14-2 Trico) remained in a tie for first place with Monroe and Central Linn linn

CROW - Tyler Bowers struck out 11 in a two-hitter, and Steve Adams and Cameron Souers had RBI singles to lead the Eagles.

Jefferson 7, Mapleton 3

MAPLETON - Chad Shephard struck out 11 in a five-hitter to lead the Lions. Cody Taylor had two RBIs for Jefferson, and George Iverson had a double and two RBIs for the Sailors.
