LanPeru Expands Service to Three New Peruvian Cities.

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 29, 2001

Beginning June 1st, LanPeru is introducing daily service to three new Peruvian cities - Tacna, Trujillo and Chiclayo - doubling the number of cities the airline services within Peru. Now, in addition to visiting the ancient Inca ruins of Machu Picchu Machu Picchu (mä`ch pēk`ch), Inca site in Peru, about 50 mi (80 km) NW of Cuzco. , passengers can travel with LanPeru to witness Trujillo's ruins of Chan Chan Chan Chan (chän chän), ruins of an ancient city near Trujillo, N Peru. An early example of city planning, with a rectangular grid structure, it was probably begun in the period from A.D. , considered the largest mud-brick city in the world, and the pyramids of the Sun and the Moon, the tallest adobe structure in the Americas. Archeological excavations are currently uncovering additional gold-filled tombs in Chiclayo, home to the Lord of Sipan's Tombs, which have yielded a wealth of gold, silver and copper jewelry jewelry, personal adornments worn for ornament or utility, to show rank or wealth, or to follow superstitious custom or fashion.

LanPeru flight 165 departs daily from Lima at 4:00 p.m. and arrives in Arequipa at 5:20 p.m. for an immediate connection and arrival in Tacna at 6:15 p.m. LanPeru flight 164 in turn departs Tacna at 6:35 p.m. and arrives in Arequipa at 7:10 p.m. for an immediate connection and arrival in Lima at 8:55 p.m.

LanPeru flight 280 departs daily from Lima at 4:50 p.m. and arrives in Trujillo at 5:50 p.m. for an immediate connection and arrival in Chiclayo at 6:40 p.m. LanPeru flight 281 in turn departs Chiclayo at 7:00 p.m. and arrives in Trujillo at 7:30 p.m. for an immediate connection and arrival in Lima at 8:50 p.m.

In addition to these three new cities, LanPeru offers five daily flights to Cuzco, three daily flights to Arequipa, and three flights weekly to Juliaca, as well as daily non-stop international service between Miami to Lima.
