The term vacate has two common usages in the law. With respect to real property, to vacate the premises means to give up possession of the property and leave the area totally devoid of contents. the role effective July 8, 2005. An executive transition team of staff and board members has been assembled to manage the change and conduct a national search to fill the vacancy for this pivotal position. "It is with a heavy heart that we accept Kar Yin's resignation and, on behalf of the Board of Directors and staff, I offer our gratitude for Kar Yin's years of service and dedication," said Maria W. Through Tham's leadership the agency has, while surviving city funding cuts and the down turn of the economy, increased the number of youth (nearly 2,000 locally and regionally, and 10,000 nationally) accessing LYRIC programs. Reflecting on her time at LYRIC, Tham says, "The power and wisdom of LGBTQQ youth is truly inspiring. LYRIC is an agency like no other where diversity is our strength, youth our guide, and change and progress come hand in hand." The Board of Directors is seeking a highly motivated leader/manager with a can-do attitude as well as strong commitment to LGBTQQ youth.
