LWV of Milwaukee County (WI).The LWV LWV abbr. League of Women Voters of Milwaukee County (WI) is proud of its successful, ongoing, seven-year-old New Voter/New Citizen Project. Every month League members attend naturalization naturalization, official act by which a person is made a national of a country other than his or her native one. The League then follows up with each new citizen by mailing a brochure, Voting in Wisconsin, personalized per·son·al·ize tr.v. per·son·al·ized, per·son·al·iz·ing, per·son·al·iz·es 1. To take (a general remark or characterization) in a personal manner. 2. To attribute human or personal qualities to; personify. with that person's polling place and elected officials. When possible, members also register new citizens to vote. More than 12 Leagues work in partnership with the Milwaukee County League. The Leagues distributed 1,600 personalized brochures in 2004 and in the first quarter of 2005, 675 new citizens received the brochures. In 2004, they helped 249 new Milwaukee resident citizens register to vote; they have helped 67 citizens register in the first quarter of 2005.
