LUCAS SIGNS PREFERRED SUPPLIER AGREEMENT WITH BAe-TAC/TAIWAN

 PARIS, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Lucas has signed a preferred supplier agreement with BAe Woodford and TAC/Taiwan to provide all cockpit transparencies for the Regional Jetliner series of aircraft to the year 2000. The Regional Jetliner series of aircraft are based on the BAe 146 aircraft. The estimated value of the contract is expected to exceed $4 million over the life of the agreement. As part of the agreement, BAe Woodford-TAC/Taiwan will continue to promote Lucas' transparencies in the aftermarket on all BAe 146 aircraft and variants.
 Lucas' Engineering & Heating Systems will produce the transparencies at its Luton, England, facility. It is part of the international group of businesses that comprise Lucas' Aircraft Systems, which, in addition to its transparency capabilities, designs, develops and manufactures equipment and systems for electric power generation, ice protection, missile casings and actuation, electroluminescent lighting, cockpit and cabin window and cargo handling systems.
