Her playoff victory Saturday at Wilshire Country Club - in the inaugural Office Depot Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) is one of the world's leading suppliers of office products and services.  - where Sorenstam rallied from 10 strokes off the lead in the final round, gives the top-ranked LPGA player four wins and two seconds in six starts this year.

The four wins set a tour record for consecutive starts, and Sorenstam will take aim at the LPGA standard for overall consecutive wins next week, when she plays in the Longs Drugs Longs Drugs (NYSE: LDG) is a pharmacy chain store located in the West Coast of the United States. Sorenstam heads for Sacramento leading the 2001 tour in earnings, victories, scoring average and Player of the Year points - she has more than three times more than her closest challenger.

--Record comeback: In overcoming a 10-stroke deficit in the final round Saturday, Sorenstam bettered the old tour comeback record of eight strokes. She did it with seven birdies and a bogey in a round of 66 that was best of the week for her and shared second-best of the week for any of the 144 participants.

--Wilshire wins: The LPGA field averaged 75.000, 74.336 and 73.831 for a 54-hole average of 74.492 in its first try at par-72, 6,349-yard Wilshire Country Club. The par-4, 404-yard 17th hole - the one that vaulted eventual playoff winner Sorenstam into the lead and that Pat Hurst bogeyed Saturday - wound up toughest overall, playing to an average of 4.316.

The LPGA field totaled 16 eagles in the 54-hole competition, the most dramatic a hole-in-one Friday by Jennifer Hubbard on the par-3, 155-yard 18th hole. Wilshire nicked the women professionals for 1,372 bogeys, 227 bogeys and 26 scores of triple bogey or higher while yielding 985 sub-par holes - 969 of them birdies.
