LP Two Harbors LP SmartSide(R) Plant Designated As MNSTAR Worksite.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- For exemplary health and safety achievements, Louisiana Pacific Corporation's (LP) (NYSE:LPX) Two Harbors plant today celebrated its designation as a "STAR" worksite under the Minnesota Star (MNSTAR) program. Two Harbors employees and LP business leaders, including Rick Frost, CEO, joined state and local officials in a flag raising ceremony and luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the plant.

A program of the Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MNOSHA) modeled after the federal OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), MNSTAR recognizes companies where management and workers cooperate with industry and government to assure safer workplaces in Minnesota. STAR designation is MNOSHA's highest health and safety honor.

"The safety of LP employees is our number one priority - no one should have to get hurt while working at LP," said Frost. "I am proud of the work you (Two Harbors employees) are doing, and I commend you for being recognized as one of the safest worksites in Minnesota."

"The MNSTAR process and the partnership with MNOSHA have helped us focus on achieving the highest levels of safety," said Dick Hanson, plant manager. "Our success is made possible through the work of our superb employees and the dedicated MNOSHA staff, as together we continue to work toward the same goal - an injury-free workplace."

The Two Harbors plant, which employs more than 130 workers, manufactures LP SmartSide, an industry-leading composite siding used in residential construction. Two Harbors is the fourth LP plant to be awarded VPP STAR status.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tenn., LP operates 31 mills (20 in the U.S., 10 in Canada and one in Chile) and employs more than 6,000 workers. LP is a premier supplier of building products, delivering innovative, high-quality commodity and specialty products to its retail, wholesale, homebuilding and industrial customers.
