LOS ANGELES SUPERIOR COURT RULES IN FAVOR OF VECTOR AEROMOTIVE CORPORATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Los Angeles Superior Court Judge John Zebrowski has ruled in favor of Vector Aeromotive Corp.'s board of directors, effectively upholding the board's authority to terminate Gerald A. Wiegert as its president and chief executive officer. The ruling is effective immediately.
The Vector board is anticipating an immediate orderly transition to resume full control of the company. Said Vector Director John Pope, "The board has been actively working during this entire process to ensure that the company is prepared to move forward in the best interests of the company and its shareholders."
In the judge's ruling, "Weigert is enjoined and restrained from any further dealings with the property or interests of the corporation." He went on to say that "An employment contract does not entitle an employee of the corporation to continued control of the corporation in preference to the board of directors. The corporation is owned by the shareholders. The shareholders elect the board of directors. The board of directors has both the power and the duty to manage the corporation."
"The court's decision is really a victory for all of the Vector shareholders who have stood by the board during the past several months," commented Robert Braner, a director of the board. "The bottom line is that we'll be able to get back into the facility and start building sports cars again."
