NORTH AMERICA'S LARGEST ANNUAL MANUFACTURING SHOW
LOS ANGELES, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- See one of the reasons the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) is expanding and renovating its facilities -- WESTEC.
WESTEC '92 is North America's largest annual manufacturing exposition and, as one of the area's major events, a catalyst for the current LACC renovation.
Sponsored by the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the American Machine Tool Distributors' Association (AMTDA), ASM International, and The Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT), WESTEC '92 opens Monday at the Los Angeles Convention Center and runs through Thursday, March 26.
The exposition has over 200,000 square feet of exhibit space and 6 million pounds of equipment in action. It extends throughout the LACC's Big Hall, Petree Hall, and into the parking structure.
Some 600 companies, one-third of which are California-based, are featuring 1,000 product lines. More than 20 countries are exhibiting the latest advances in machine tools, design equipment, laser technology, material handling, fabricating, finishing, and testing/quality control devices. More than 30,000 manufacturing professionals are expected to attend.
 Exposition hours at the LACC are 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday, March 23; 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24-25; and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday, March 26.
In addition to the exposition, there will be more than 25 conference sessions and courses addressing critical manufacturing issues.
