LOS ANGELES' GREENING LANDSCAPE.``Michael Collins'' is the first Irish-themed project to emerge in what promises to be a very green fall and winter. Coming in the next few months: ``Some Mother's Son,'' opening Dec. 27. This movie, from the makers of ``In the Name of the Father,'' stars Helen Mirren and Fionnula Flanagan as mothers battling to save their sons during the Irish hunger strike hunger strike, refusal to eat as a protest against existing conditions. Although most often used by prisoners, others have also employed it. The Irish band plays the House of Blues House of Blues (HOB) is a chain of music halls and restaurants founded in 1992 by Hard Rock Cafe founder Isaac Tigrett and his friend and investor Dan Aykroyd. It is a home for live music and southern-inspired cuisine, whose clubs celebrate African-American culture, specifically on Oct. 18. Altan, another Irish band, plays the same venue Nov. 12. A celebration of Samhain (pronounced ``sow-in''), Nov. 3 at An Claidheamh Soluis Celtic Arts Center at the Raven Playhouse in North Hollywood. Samhain is the ancient Celtic New Year.
