LONGEVITY MARRIED 65 YEARS: BELLA AND BEN RIFF.

Bella and Ben Riff of Valley Village celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with friends and family on Nov. 30 at Tony Roma's Tony Roma's is a casual dining chain restaurant specializing in baby back ribs. The first location was established in 1972 in North Miami, Florida, by the eponymous founder, and today there are roughly 260 locations in 27 countries comprising 32 territories. . They were married on Nov. 30, 1940, five years after meeting on a stoop in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Ben was born on Aug. 6, 1917, in New Haven New Haven, city (1990 pop. 130,474), New Haven co., S Conn., a port of entry where the Quinnipiac and other small rivers enter Long Island Sound; inc. 1784. Bella was born on May 23, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. She attended Girls Commercial High School in Brooklyn and worked in the financial industry.

In 1952, Ben sold his business and the couple moved with their son to Hollywood, where Ben later started his own printing company.

Ben and Bella retired in 1993. Members of the Tuesday Dance Club of Arleta, they enjoy socializing and dancing every week. Ben loves to cook and play poker with his buddies, while Bella plays mahjong and card games with her friends every week.

The couple has one son: Harvey Riff of Sherman Oaks. They also have three grandchildren.

MARRIED 60 YEARS: HAROLD AND EVELYN ENGLISH

Harold and Evelyn English of Van Nuys celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family on Dec. 23, at Victorio's Ristorante in North Hollywood. They were married on Dec. 23, 1945, in Toronto.

Harold was born on July 23, 1925, in London, Canada. He has three brothers who still live in Canada. Evelyn was born on October 25, 1927, the youngest of 10 siblings in Toronto, Canada. Her remaining siblings still live in Canada as well.

The couple opened the first television sales and repair store in Canada. Harold and Evelyn decided to move to Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  while visiting friends in the area; in 1963, they moved to California with their daughters.

MARRIED 60 YEARS: JUDY AND WILLY GOLDSMITH

Judy and Willy Goldsmith of West Hills celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family on Jan. 13 with a cruise to Mexico. They were married on Jan. 12, 1946, in New York.

The Goldsmiths were introduced to each other by friends while living in New York. They moved to Los Angeles in 1969.

Judy attended Yonkers High School in New York. She was a bookkeeper for many years, and is now a travel agent. She has been a member of the West Valley Jewish Community Center for 35 years.

Willy attended DeWitt Clinton High School DeWitt Clinton High School is an American high school located in New York City.

Clinton opened in 1897, enrolling only boys at first. It has been co-ed since 1983. Its original building was on West 13th Street in Manhattan; later, it moved to on 59th Street and Tenth Avenue
 in New York. During World War II, while serving in the Army's 9th Division, Willy was captured by the German army -- but escaped. He sold decorative hardware for a living, and retired in 1993.

Judy and Willy have three children: Maralyn Soifer of West Hills; Rick Goldsmith of Canoga Park; and Lauri Roberts of Colorado Springs Colorado Springs, city (1990 pop. 281,140), seat of El Paso co., central Colo., on Monument and Fountain creeks, at the foot of Pikes Peak; inc. 1886. It is a year-round resort and a booming military, technological, and commercial city. , Colo. They also have nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

MARRIED 55 YEARS: MARCIA AND HERB ROSENHECK

Marcia and Herb Rosenheck of Northridge celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with a dinner party with their friends and family on Dec. 24. They were married on Dec. 24, 1950, in Los Angeles.

Herb, a native Angeleno, graduated from Dorsey High School in 1947. A Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation.  veteran, he graduated from Southwestern University and worked as the vice president of TRW TRW The Real World (TV reality show)

Marcia was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pa. She graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School Taylor Allderdice High School is a public school located in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. Taylor Allderdice is one of ten high schools in the Pittsburgh Public Schools, and it has the largest student population of any school in the district. . In 1947 she moved to Los Angeles, where she attended L.A. City College.

Herb and Marcia enjoy spending time with their family and traveling. They have visited Europe, Hawaii, Mexico, Scandinavia, Russia, Israel and Alaska -- and are planning a trip on the American Oriental Express.

They have two children: Robin Rose of Northridge and Michael Rosenheck of Sherman Oaks. They also have four grandchildren.
