LONGEVITY MARRIED 60 YEARS: ROY AND ADELE THOMAS.

Roy and Adele Thomas of Sylmar celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at a dinner attended by family and friends. They were married on Aug. 21, 1946.

They met in high school in Toronto.

Adele was born in Toronto. She grew up in both Toronto and Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, , having moved back and forth to both places. For a time she worked for the Ontario government as a secretary. After marriage, she became a full-time housewife.

Roy also grew up in Toronto and joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, where he served for four years. In California, he worked for the National Cash Register Co. as a code encipherer. Roy and Adele were married when he returned from World War II.

They both love to play cards as well as travel and have gone on several cruises.

They have two children: Daniel Thomas of Granada Hills and Lee Thomas Lee Thomas may be:
  • Lee Thomas, author.
  • Lee Thomas, baseball.
  • Lee Thomas, rugby player.
  • Lee M. Thomas, head of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, 1985-1989
 of Chatsworth.

MARRIED 55 YEARS: VAN AND MARGARET RASEY

Van and Margaret Rasey of Studio City celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family on Aug. 3 at Black Angus restaurant in Burbank. They were married on Aug. 3, 1951, at First United Methodist Church First United Methodist Church is a common name for the first United Methodist church established in a particular locality. Many First United Methodist Churches exist around the world.  in Hollywood.

They met when Van and his musician friends invited some young ladies from the church choir. They dated for a while before getting married.

Margaret moved from Hutchinson, Kan., to Burbank in 1948. There she joined the church and participated in various women's clubs women's clubs, groups that offer social, recreational, and cultural activities for adult females. Particularly strong in the United States, they became an important part of American town and village life in the latter part of the 19th cent.  around town. Following marriage she continued to work with children's choirs.

Van moved from Montana to Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  in 1936. He played trumpet professionally for nearly 60 years. In 1937 he won an audition for the Jack Armstrong Jack Armstrong may refer to:
  • Jack Armstrong (sportscaster) (born 1963), a sportscaster for the Toronto Raptors
  • Jack Armstrong (baseball player) (born 1965), a Major League Baseball pitcher
 All American Band. He also performed for various radio shows, including Jack Benny and the Charlie McCarthy show, and movies, including ``Singing in the Rain'' and ``The Music Man.'' He has also received several awards, including the Los Angeles Jazz Society's Humanitarian Award.

They both enjoy traveling and have been to various Summer Olympic venues, Australia, Germany, Canada and other places.

They have three children: Dvanna Ulyate of Chatsworth, Deven Rasey of Northridge and Dalerie Rasey of Encino. They also have three grandchildren GRANDCHILDREN, domestic relations. The children of one's children. Sometimes these may claim bequests given in a will to children, though in general they can make no such claim. 6 Co. 16. .
