During World War II, Mary and Ray met by chance when they shared a taxi. Both were traveling separately from Fort Wayne Fort Wayne, city (1990 pop. 173,072), seat of Allen co., NE Ind., where the St. Joseph and St. Marys rivers join to form the Maumee River; inc. 1840. After a few more trips, they started dating and became engaged. They were married in Angola, Ind., on June 9, 1945. Mary grew up on a farm in Steuben County, Ind., and graduated from Angola High School in 1937. She worked at Bledsoe Beach resort in Lake James and during World War II worked for a defense contractor in Fort Wayne as an inspector. She worked at Theme and Wangaren in Lafayette, Ind., while Ray was attending Purdue University. After Ray's graduation, Mary returned to Fort Wayne and worked as a homemaker and mother. He graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with his bachelor's degree and in 1960 with his master's degree. Claudia graduated from Hollywood High School and worked as a messenger and in the legal department for RKO RKO Radio Keith Orpheum (movie studio) RKO Randy Keith Orton (wrestling) RKO Relativistic Klystron Oscillator RKO Rural King Ohio (farm supply store) Pictures, and later as a homemaker. Raymond was born in New London, Conn., and moved to California in 1942. He graduated from Hollywood High School and worked as a film editor for 38 years, winning an Emmy Award for his work on the TV show ``Hill Street Blues.'' They have three children: Deborah Millan, of Santa Monica; Darrylin Trepp, of Ventura; and Raymond III, of Thousand Oaks. They have four grandchildren.
