Jack and Marie met at St. Monica High School in Santa Monica. They got engaged while Marie was a student at Immaculate Heart College and Jack was in the Army. Marie graduated from high school in 1942 and Immaculate Heart College in 1946 with a degree in bacteriology bacteriology Study of bacteria. Jack also graduated from St. Monica High School in 1942, attended Santa Monica College Santa Monica College was first opened in 1929 as Santa Monica Junior College. The college also has one of the largest international student populations of any community college in the US, with approximately for a time and served with the 10th Mountain Division of the U.S. Army in Italy. He is currently the managing partner of Poyer and Lombardi, owning various properties in La Jolla and Los Angeles.
