LONGEVITY MARRIED 60 YEARS: DAVE AND HELEN HALL.

Dave and Helen Hall of South Pasadena South Pasadena (păs'ədē`nə), city (1990 pop. 23,936), Los Angeles co., S Calif., a residential suburb of Los Angeles; inc. 1888. Medical supplies, clothing, and transportation and electronic equipment are manufactured.  celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with their family on July 2 at Disneyland. They were married on July 11, 1945, in Albuquerque, N.M.

They both graduated from the University of New Mexico The University of New Mexico (UNM) is a public university in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was founded in 1889. It also offers multiple bachelor's, master's, doctoral, and professional degree programs in all areas of the arts, sciences, and engineering. . Helen got her degree in music, and Dave got his degree in engineering.

Dave served in the Navy in World War II as well as in the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation. . He remained in the Naval reserves for 20 years, starting as a signalman signalman

Helen taught church youth programs and performed as a concert pianist and volunteered for dozens of local charities and other organizations. Aside from the piano and organ, she plays the trombone trombone [Ital.,=large trumpet], brass wind musical instrument of cylindrical bore, twice bent on itself, having a sliding section that lengthens or shortens it and thus regulates the pitch. The descendant of the sackbut, it was developed in the 15th cent. ; in addition to being a homemaker and a mother, she worked part-time as an elementary school substitute teacher.

After leaving the Navy, Dave worked as a civil engineer for the Los Angeles County Flood Control District before retiring in the late 1970s.

They moved to California in the mid 1950s, first residing in Lynwood before moving in 1965 to Pasadena, where they still live.

They enjoy sports, especially golf. They have two children: David Hall, of Sunland and Jerry Blumberg, of Walnut Creek. They also have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
