LONGEVITY MARRIED 60 YEARS: LYNN AND CHICK SAFFELL.
Chick and Lynn met at a dance at Woodbury University in 1942.
Though Chick had received his draft papers and was scheduled to join the Army the following year, the couple had many memorable times together before Chick shipped out in January 1943. Lynn and Chick kept their love alive through letters. Chick returned in December 1945, and the couple wed on New Year's Eve.
Chick started Sport Service Inc. in 1963, which manufactured and sold racing memorabilia. He sold the company in 1992, and has been retired ever since. Lynn and Chick are busy members of two country clubs and one yacht club.
They have three children: Leesa Bellesi of Laguna Beach, Jana Yost of Westlake and Britt Charles, who is deceased. They also have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

MARRIED 50 YEARS: LEO AND FRAN McNAMARA
Leo and Fran McNamara of West Hills celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at home with family and friends on Feb. 11. They were married on Feb. 13, 1956, in Westwood.
They met at Salisbury Beach in Massachusetts.
Fran was born in Andover, Mass., in 1933. She graduated from Punchard High School in Andover and attended the University of Massachusetts from 1953 to 1954. Following that, she worked as a secretary for an insurance company before becoming a homemaker and mom.
Leo was born in Lowell, Mass., in 1928 and served in the Coast Guard in Butcher, Mass., from 1945 to 1948.
They moved to Mar Vista, Calif., in 1955 and were married the following year. Leo worked for McDonnell Douglas in Santa Monica. He then worked as a policeman for the Santa Monica Police Department from 1955 to 1969.
In 1969, he graduated from the San Fernando Valley College of Law and has been an attorney ever since.
Leo and Fran joined the Braemar Country Club in 1961. They are both avid golfers and have been club champions several times. They also love to play in various Mr. and Mrs. weekend tournaments throughout Southern California.
They have six children: Patrick McNamara of Oceanside; Michael McNamara and Kathy McNamara, both of West Hills; Laurie Roberts of Lake Tahoe; Daniel McNamara of Truckee; and James McNamara of Port Hueneme. They also have 16 grandchildren.

MARRIED 50 YEARS: ROBERT AND ELLEN ALBRECHT
Robert and Ellen Albrecht of Palmdale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends on Feb. 5 at a friend's home in Lancaster. They were married on Feb. 5, 1956.
Both of them were born in Finland and survived the Soviet Union air attacks in Helsinki.
They knew each other as children but fell in love when Robert revisited Finland after his family moved to Sweden.
At the time of their marriage, Ellen moved with Robert to Sweden, where their first child was born. Homesickness prompted them to move back to Finland for a short while. They then immigrated to Canada, where their second child was born.
They emigrated from Canada to the United States in 1964. They became U.S. citizens in 1969.
Ellen worked at the Bank of America branch in Van Nuys as a clerk for a few years, and Robert retired from a job as a building inspector and investigator with the City of Los Angeles after 11 1/2 years.
They love to travel and have been all over the world, including South America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
They have two children: Elizabeth Ellen Orchard of Lancaster and Anne Margaret Johnson of Bellflower. They also have four grandchildren.
