LONGEVITY MARRIED 50 YEARS: RON AND JUDY DUIM.Byline: - Simone Trimm Ron and Judy Duim of Palmdale celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 22 at Eduardo's Restaurant with family and friends. They were married on Oct. 22, 1955, in Torrance. They met on a blind date while Ron was stationed with the Navy in Long Beach. They attended a ship's party and dated briefly until Ron was shipped out to the Korean War Korean War, conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953. At the end of World War II, Korea was divided at the 38th parallel into Soviet (North Korean) and U.S. (South Korean) zones of occupation. . Throughout the war, they continued their romance through letters. Judy was born on Nov. 19, 1935, in Detroit and moved with her family to California in 1951. Ron was born on May 29, 1933, in Seattle. Judy graduated in 1953 from Nathaniel Norbonne High School in Lomita, and then graduated from Los Angeles Harbor College Los Angeles Harbor College (LAHC) is one of two community colleges serving the South Bay region of Los Angeles. LAHC serves mainly students from Harbor City, Carson, San Pedro, Gardena, Lomita, Wilmington and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. with an A.A. degree in secretarial science.
