 LOGIC MODELING ANNOUNCES PLATFORM SUPPORT
FOR HP APOLLO SERIES 700 WORKSTATIONS
High-Performance Computers Ideal for System Simulation
MILPITAS, Calif., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Logic Modeling Systems Inc., developer of the industry-standard LM-family(TM) of hardware modeling systems, today announced platform support for the high- performance HP Apollo 9000 Series 700 PA-RISC workstations.
The Series 700 workstations, announced in March 1991 and expanded in January of this year, operate at speeds ranging from 35 to 77.5 MIPS and contain from 8 to 384 Mbytes of internal RAM.
"The high processing power delivered by the HP Series 700 makes it an ideal platform for CPU-intensive system simulation," said Koorosh Nazifi, director of hardware modeler marketing at Logic Modeling.
"The anticipated technological advances in the workstation industry were the primary motivation for the development of the high- end LM-1200(TM) hardware modeler, introduced in March 1991. We were determined to ensure that the hardware modeler would keep pace with these performance advances.
"The LM-family of hardware modelers, which has been shipping since September 1991, is presently being used with the Series 700 in a number of key accounts," continued Nazifi. "Our support of the Series 700 demonstrates our commitment to universal platform support."
"We consider system simulation a key application for the Series 700," said Scott Thull, market segment manager for electronic design automation at Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HWP). "Hardware modeling is an enabling technology that plays a vital role in successful system simulation. This is why we worked very closely with Logic Modeling to ensure that the Series 700 support was in place."
