LOCAL WOMEN'S ROUNDUP: WEBER SINKS CSUN.

Byline: Daily News

Stephanie Stanger scored 17 points to lead a balanced Weber State offense as the Wildcats rolled past visiting Cal State Northridge 67-53 Saturday night to drop the Matadors (9-12) to 5-5 in the Big Sky Conference women's basketball standings.

Weber State (8-12, 5-5) shares that spot with CSUN, thanks in large part to a defense that scored 22 points off Northridge turnovers and an offensive balance that also produced double-digit scoring from Cyrstal Howe (12 points), Jamie C. Peterson (12) and Kris Clyder-Gardner.

Kristi Rose led Northridge with 11 points and Monica Hernandez, ReShawnda Richardson and Kameelah Purdom added 10 points apiece for the Matadors, who trailed 28-21 at the half.

In other women's basketball:

--Loyola Marymount 62, Gonzaga 58: Adrianne Slaughter's 20 points and 16 rebounds led all players as the Lions (15-6, 6-2) got past the Bulldogs (5-16, 0-8) in a West Coast Conference game at Spokane, Wash.

Slaughter shot 10 of 13 from the field and added two steals and two blocked shots for the Lions, who also got 13 points and four steals from Kate Murray.

Jessica Malone led Gonzaga with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Also in WCC play, Pepperdine defeated Portland 62-50.
