LOCAL WOMAN TO TURN 93.

Byline: -- Alejandro Guzman

Lake View Terrace resident Flora Davis will be turning 93 years young on Feb. 18. Davis, who has been living in the Valley since 1959, is originally from Greenwood, Mississippi. She left Miss. in 1940 to live in California. Now retired, Davis frequents the Alicia Broadus

Duncan Multipurpose Senior Center in Pacoima. She says she likes the senior center because the staff really seems to "care for the elderly." Davis spends about three days a week at the senior center. At the center, she has a chance to meet with friends and socialize under the care of trained professionals. While at the senior center, coloring is her favorite pastime. She used to like working on puzzles too, but that was before strained vision interfered. Throughout her life, Davis has taken on many roles and has had different jobs, some of which include being a nurse, cab driver, school bus driver and a day care worker. Her favorite foods include string beans, potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Davis plans on spending her birthday visiting different family members throughout the Valley.
