LANCASTER - Eight local artists' works go on display with a free public reception today at Lancaster's Museum/Art Gallery.

The Antelope Valley
 Artists'' features artists Marci Bishop, Dennis Calaba, Katherine Cushman, Ann Hurd, Steve Kennington, Diana Maus, David Walker David Walker may refer to:
  • David Walker (abolitionist) (1785-1830), American black abolitionist
  • David M. Walker (astronaut) (1944-2001), United States astronaut for NASA
  • David M. Walker (U.S.
 and Dean Webb.

Visitors will see artists' interpretations in various styles: plein-air paintings, abstract portraits, European vistas, desert views, florals, whimsical paintings, humorous scenes and abstracts.

The reception runs from noon to 4 p.m. today. A recital of English and Spanish poetry Spanish poetry is the poetic tradition of Spain. It may include elements of Spanish literature, and literatures written in languages of Spain other than Castilian, such as Catalan literature.

``8 Views ... 8 Antelope Valley Artists'' will remain on display through April 28.

Admission is free at the Museum/Art Gallery, 44801 Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling .

The facility will be open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. It will be closed Easter Sunday, March 31, and April 20-21 for the city of Lancaster's California Poppy California poppy: see poppy.
