LOCAL PROJECTS WIN PRAISE SCHOOL CENTER, THRIFT STORE FEATURED ON TOUR.

The National Assistance League recently came calling upon its local Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  chapter to learn more about the projects the chapter brings to those in need in the community.

 visit took place at the chapter's Operation School Bell distribution center, where the project's chairman, Cheryl Carlson, showed the visitors around, pointing out where local boys and girls boys and girls

The chapter receives about 1,300 referrals from the schools, and the Operation School Bell center has been a efficient way to provide for the influx of children. Since these students are so accustomed to wearing secondhand clothing, it is a joy for them to finally receive new clothing and supplies as they began the school year, Carlson said.

The visiting team announced that the chapter was in sound financial shape, returning 76 percent of the proceeds to the community. Parker added that Assistance League of Santa Clarita is ``one of the most energetic and organized Assistance League chapters.''

The visitors then were taken on a tour of the chapter's Take Two Thrift Shop thrift shop

A shop that sells used articles, especially clothing, as to benefit a charitable organization.

The chapter relies on thrift shop sales as well as its Gallery of Gifts Boutique Boutique

Notes:
These investment firms are the alternatives to large financial supermarkets. They provide a highly personalized environment for investing.
