LOCAL NOTES : THE CLINIC RIDING HIGH IN SIMI LEAGUE.

The Clinic leads the Thursday Men's C division of the Conejo Recreation & Park District fall basketball league with a 7-0 record.

Formulakers II is second at 6-1, followed by Inclusion Bodies at 5-2.

Steal is fourth at 4-3 with VooDoo Posse fifth at 3-4. Hoop Impulsion impulsion /im·pul·sion/ (im-pul´shun) blind obedience to internal drives, without regard for acceptance by others or pressure from the superego; seen in children and in adults with weak defensive organization.

Amgen and Degenerates are tied for first in the Sunday C division with 4-2 records. Wildcats are third at 3-3 followed by Fomulakers I at 1-5.

Softball: The Ballistic, a 14-and-under girls' fast-pitch softball team based in Simi Valley, will be holding open tryouts for the 1998 spring season.

The December date for the tryouts has yet to be determined.

To be eligible, players must not turn 15 before Jan. 1, 1998. Information: call (805) 522-4766 or (805) 492-9468.

Softball: With a 6-0 record, PDS East leads the Wednesday Men's B-1 division of the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District.

Bob Beaty Ford and The Tribe are tied for second at 4-2.

Just 4 Fun is fourth at 2-4 followed by California Rockies and PC's Bar & Grill at 1-5.

Slugs leads the Men's B-2 division with a 5-1 record.

Team Harley's is second at 4-2, followed by Strokers and Simi Lock & Key, tied for third at 3-3.

Raw Talent is 2-4, with Oddballs last at 1-5.

Troop Real Fish leads the C division with a 6-0 record. Chuy's Killer Fish and Ah-Right are tied for second at 4-2 record. Wildthings is fourth at 3-3.

Roughriders is fifth at 1-5 and New Blood is last at 0-6.

Big Dogs leads the D division with a 5-0 record.

T.O. Kawasaki is second with a 4-1 record followed by Bud's Int'l third at 3-3. Raptors is fourth at 2-3.

Strike Four is fifth at 1-4 with Some Fear last at 1-5.
