The event draws competitors from all over California, Oregon, Arizona and Nevada. Last year, participants from 5 to 50 and over competed for trophies and regional championships. The event will include daylong competition among those with matched skill levels - from beginners to ranking black belts - and demonstrations of martial arts. A special event, allowing anyone to break a board for $1, is tentatively planned. Proceeds would go to the Michael Hofflin chapter of the Neil Bogart Foundation to benefit research on children's cancer.
