Baseball camp: The Master's College will be holding its annual Spring Break Baseball Camp on Monday and Tuesday. The camp will include instruction on hitting, fielding and pitching. Camp will run from 9 a.m. until noon. The cost is $50. For more information and applications, call (805) 259-3540, Ext. 222.

Baseball camp: Hit for Power Baseball School will hold an Easter camp Thursday and Friday at the Rosamond Little League field from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $70 per player or $120 for two and $170 for three. The camp is being run by Fate Young, a scout with the Seattle Mariners, and Selwyn Young, a scout with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are a professional baseball team based in St. Petersburg, Florida, Florida. The Devil Rays are a member of the Eastern Division of Major League Baseball's American League. From to the present, the Devil Rays have played in Tropicana Field. . Former Dodger Darrell Thomas, former Expo Ellis Valentine and former Oakland A's player Rod Murphy are instructors. Ex-Dodger Lee Lacy is expected to make a guest appearance.

Karate: Ken Lewis Tae Kwon Do/Karate for Kids will host its annual ``Fun in the Sun'' tae kwon do tae kwon do

The event draws competitors from all over California as well as Oregon, Arizona and Nevada. Last year, more than 800 boys, girls, men and women, ranging in age from 5 past 50, competed for trophies and regional championships.

The event will include daylong competition among those with matched skill levels - from beginners to ranking black belts - and demonstrations of martial arts. A special event, allowing anyone to break a board for $1, is tentatively planned. Proceeds would go to the Michael Hofflin chapter of the Neil Bogart Foundation to benefit research on children's cancer.

Golf: Todd Donoho will be celebrity host at the 23rd annual Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Golf Classic on May 18. Held at the world-class Valencia Country Club, the tournament will include a live auction. Proceeds will benefit the hospital's trauma center trauma center

Poppy Festival races: One of the highlights of the fifth annual California Poppy California poppy: see poppy.

Annual garden plant (Eschscholzia californica) in the poppy family, native to the western coast of North America and naturalized in parts of southern Europe, Asia, and Australia.
 Festival will be the Poppy Runs on April 14, the second day of the two-day festival in Lancaster.

The runs - five kilometers and 10 kilometers - will start at 7:30 a.m. at Avenue K-8 and 10th Street West in Lancaster. The entry fee, if submitted by Friday, is $15 a person. Entries submitted later are $20 each.

A combined fee of $25 is available until Friday for those interested in entering both a 20-mile bicycle race April 13 and running the next day.

Baseball, basketball, football and hockey memorabilia will be sold. Admission will be free.
