Basketball camp: On July 15-17, the Complete Package Sports Group will be holding a second annual Summer Pro Youth Basketball Camp in Palmdale at Highland High School Highland High School or Highlands High School may refer to:

The camp will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. IndyCar racing: Valencia resident Bryan Herta will compete Sunday in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

Herta is a third-year IndyCar driver, but this will be his first year driving for three-time IndyCar champion Bobby Rahal.

Back in top shape after being injured in a 1994 crash in Toronto, Herta is looking forward to the weekend, including qualifying starting Friday, at Long Beach.

Also driving in the race will be Canyon Country resident Richie Hearn. Hearn will make his IndyCar debut at Long Beach. He was the 1995 Player's Ltd./Toyota Atlantic champion. He will be driving for the John Della Penna pen·na

All-Stars Baseball Game: The 22nd annual Lancaster Rotary High School All-Stars Baseball Game will be played June 2 at the JetHawks' stadium in Lancaster.

The event is held every year to showcase talented high school baseball players from Antelope Valley schools. The general public and professional scouts are invited.

Players from area schools are divided in two teams. The East team is from Antelope Valley, Burroughs (Ridgecrest), Bethel Christian, Boron boron (bōr`ŏn) [New Gr. from borax], chemical element; symbol B; at. no. 5; at. wt. 10.81; m.p. about 2,300°C;; sublimation point about 2,550°C;; sp. gr. 2.3 at 25°C;; valence +3. , Kern Valley, Littlerock, Rosamond and Desert. The West team is from Antelope Valley Christian, Desert Christian, Highland, Palmdale, Paraclete, Mojave and Quartz Hill.

Admission will be $1 for senior citizens and children, $2 for others. There will be a $5 family rate for three or more from a household.

 Festival will be the five-kilometer and 10-kilometer runs Sunday, the second day of the two-day festival in Lancaster.

The runs will start at 7:30 a.m. at Avenue K-8 and 10th Street West in Lancaster.

Entry fee is $20.

Golf: TV sports reporter Todd Donaho will be celebrity host at the 23rd annual Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Golf Classic on May 18. The tournament will be held at the Valencia Country Club. There will be a live auction, with proceeds benefiting the hospital's trauma center trauma center
