 sign-ups: Lancaster AYSO Region 91 holds its first registration day for the fall season Saturday at the Lancaster City Park Recreation Center from 9 a.m. for returning players. New players can sign up beginning at 1 p.m. All new players must bring a birth certificate. Players must be 5 years old by Dec. 31, 1996, but cannot be older than 19 by July 31, 1996.

Soccer league sign-ups: The United Desert Youth Soccer League is holding registration for all of the Antelope Valley for both recreation and club levels. Youth ages 4-19 and coaches are invited to register. For more information, contact Michael Martinez at (805) 273-3053.

Golf tournament: The Antelope Valley Country Club and Antelope Valley Rubbish will sponsor a women's golf tournament and pro-am tournament March 24-27. The proceeds will benefit the Antelope Valley Child Abuse Center. Rick Garcia, sports anchor for Fox News, will play in the pro-am and will serve as master of ceremonies at the awards dinner.

Boys club soccer: Tryouts for a Santa Clarita United team will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at Valley View School. The team is open to boys born between Aug. 1, 1980, and July 31, 1982. Contact Bill Weatherman at (805) 252-3951.

Running: The Santa Clarita Runners offer coached interval, tempo-run and hill training Tuesday and Thursday evenings and training runs Saturdays and Sundays.
