LOCAL NOTES: TODD GETS UCSB SCHOLARSHIP.

J.J. Todd, a 6-foot-11 center at Chaminade, has committed to play basketball next season at UCSB UCSB University of California at Santa Barbara

Thanksgiving tournament: West Valley Baseball is hosting the fourth annual Thanksgiving All-Star Baseball All-Star Baseball is a baseball video game series developed and published by Acclaim Entertainment.  Pepperdine men's basketball team has expanded its boundaries and signed three out-of-state players.

Tyler Brown, Josh Fisher and Greg Ethington all signed letters of intent to play for the Waves during the 1999-2000 season. Brown and Fisher are from Washington; Brown is a 6-8 center from Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma and Fisher is a 6-3 guard from Mercer Island High in Mercer Island. Ethington is a 6-8 forward from Gilbert High in Gilbert, Ariz.
