LOCAL NOTES: CSUN FOOTBALL SETS MILLENNIUM PAIRINGS.

During a Big Sky Conference call Wednesday, CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  athletic director Athletic director (commonly, "athletics director") is a position at many American colleges and universities, as well as in larger high schools and middle schools, which oversees the work of the coaches and related staff involved in intercollegiate or interscholastic athletic  Paul Bubb learned that the Matadors might not host both Montana and Montana State as expected during the 2000 football season. Instead, the Matadors might host one school and travel to the other to make it more economical and easier for the institutions.

Bubb also said that on Friday he plans to meet with a unnamed group that is interested in helping get CSUN's Big Sky Conference basketball games on the radio this season. The group doesn't include basketball scouting gurus Dana and David Pump, who recently offered their services to help find sponsors for the project and do the color commentary. Bubb also said that the Matadors are not limited to KCSN-FM (88.9) as a flagship station In broadcasting, a flagship station is the station which originates a broadcast network, or a particular radio show or TV show, primarily in the United States and Canada. This includes both direct network feeds and syndication, but generally not backhauls. .

Fonseca named A.D.: Former CSUN soccer coach Horacio Ric Fonseca was recently named the athletic director at Los Angeles City College Los Angeles City College, known as LACC, is a public community college in the Hollywood section of Los Angeles, California. A part of the Los Angeles Community College District, it is located on Vermont Avenue south of Santa Monica Boulevard. . He replaces Jack C. Boyer, who is retiring after 41 years as a professor of physical education and athletic director.

In 1996, Fonseca started up LACC's men's soccer program as a club team and coached its intercollegiate varsity team In the United States and Canada and UK, varsity sports teams are the principal athletic teams representing a college, university, or high school or other secondary school. Such teams compete against the principal athletic teams at other colleges/universities, or in the case of  this season. He also coached at L.A. Mission College (1977-79) and CSUN (1979-82).

Soccer commitments: Harvard-Westlake midfielder/forward Susan Baisehas committed to Princeton. Thousand Oaks sweeper Susan Shivokevich has orally committed to Fresno State.
