 is among nine judges being considered for appointment to the Court of Appeal's second appellate district.

Jackson, 56, has experience serving at the appellate level, having twice served as a justice pro tem [Latin, For the time being.] An abbreviation used for pro tempore, Latin for "temporary or provisional."

A person who acts as a temporary substitute serves pro tem.

He was appointed in 1990 as Municipal Court judge, and in 1993 was named a Superior Court judge.

Jackson graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Nevada, Reno The University of Nevada, Reno (Nevada or UNR) is a university located in Reno, Nevada, USA, and is known for its programs in agricultural research, animal biotechnology, and mining-related engineering and natural sciences. , in 1970. He received a law degree from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 1973.
