Valley, southern California, U.S. Northwest of central Los Angeles, the valley is bounded by the San Gabriel, Santa Susana, and Santa Monica mountains and the Simi Hills.
 area companies dominate the list of nominees for the Los Angeles area's Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

The awards, now in their 13th year, are designed to celebrate entrepreneurship and recognize business leaders and companies that are creating jobs in the community, said Jim Peters, director of the awards program.

The entrepreneurs were selected from among 90 nominees across the region.

Winners in each category - including business services, e-software, entertainment, financial services and others - will be announced at a June 29 banquet and will be eligible for national awards.

Local finalists announced Wednesday include:

--Stephen G. Berman, president and chief operating officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)
