LOCAL ATHLETES HONORED WITH SCHOLARSHIPS.Byline: Mark Kellam valleynews.com The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame recently honored several athletes from the San Fernando, Antelope and Santa Clarita valleys with Scholar- Athlete awards during a dinner at the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City. Every year, the foundation and hall of fame pay tribute to a select football players for exhibiting superior qualities of scholarship, citizenship and leadership. Additionally, the foundation recognizes individuals who demonstrate outstanding support for it and its mission of promoting the game of amateur football. Among the area athletes honored, two received $1,000 scholarships.
