LOCAL: MIAMI PICKS USC'S POOLE.

The nature of playing cornerback is forgetting the bad plays so you can make good ones. It's a lesson that suited USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  cornerback Will Poole Will Poole (born July 24, 1981 in Beckley, West Virginia) is an American football cornerback. He was originally drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at Southern California.  well this weekend.

Once considered a mid-to-late first-round pick, Poole sat through nearly 10 hours and three rounds of the NFL Draft The NFL Draft (officially the NFL Annual Player Selection Meeting[1]) is an annual sports draft in which National Football League (NFL) teams take turns, through seven rounds[2]  on Saturday without hearing his name called. Finally, after a long day and night, he was chosen Sunday by the Miami Dolphins with the sixth pick of the fourth round.

High school and College career  and Patrick Surtain.

``It's a good situation to be coming into and I'm excited to be able to say I'm a professional athlete,'' Poole said. ``I feel like I could have been picked a lot higher, but I've been rolling with the punches since day one.''

 players were selected Sunday. Linebacker Brandon Chillar was taken in the fourth round by St. Louis, where he'll be reunited with former linebacking mate Robert Thomas. Defensive end Dave Ball was chosen with the first pick of the fifth round by San Diego, where he'll be among four draftees competing for a spot in new coordinator Wade Phillips' 3-4 defense. Defensive tackle Rodney Leisle was chosen by New Orleans six picks after Ball.

The selection of Ball and Leisle marked the first time since 1974 that more than one Bruins defensive lineman was picked in the same draft. The four defensive players UCLA had drafted (cornerback Matt Ware was chosen Saturday by Philadelphia) were the most for the Bruins since 1989.

Two more UCLA defensive lineman signed free-agent contracts Sunday - defensive end Mat Ball, Dave's twin, signed with Jacksonville, and tackle Ryan Boschetti signed with Washington. The selection of Hawaii defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga by San Francisco in the fourth round and Colorado receiver D.J. Hackett by Seattle in the fifth round represented firsts and lasts of sorts.

Sopoaga became the first College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  alum to be drafted, while Hackett may have been the last Cal State Northridge product to be chosen, spending the past two years at Colorado after CSUN CSUN California State University Northridge  dropped football.
