LMIC (OTCBB:LMII) has been selected by VoxTec, a Division of Marine Acoustics, to manufacture the new Phraselator(TM) P2.

The initial order to LMIC covers 1,000 Phraselator P2s for US defense applications in the Middle East.

The Phraselator is a one-way phrase-based voice-to-voice machine translator. When a user speaks an English phrase into the microphone, the appropriate prerecorded translation is played through the built in speaker. With the Phraselator, users can provide information, give orders or directions, or ask questions designed to prompt easily-conveyed responses. Currently VoxTec has a library of 15,000 phrases and 53 languages for use in the military and industries such as health care, law enforcement, travel and more.

It is the first ruggedized PDA, with specs for performance over extended temperature ranges, operating in high RFI/EMI locations, and with a full sunlight or full darkness readable display. Its advanced speech recognition works in high noise environments. The Phraselator P2's noise-canceling microphone and separate background noise level microphone also help to ensure accurate recognition, which is especially important when conveying critical information such as "Stop or I'll shoot." The Phraselator P2's speaker has about five times more power in its speaker output than most PDAs. When additional volume is needed, the Phraselator P2 can be hooked up to an external speaker.
