LMGT Releases FORMTEK:ORION Version 4.3 Maintenance Upgrade.

Business Editors/Hi-Tech Writers

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2001

Lockheed Martin Global Telecommunications (LMGT LMGT - Lockeed Martin Global Telecommunications) announced today that FORMTEK, Inc., a LMGT business unit, has introduced for release FORMTEK:ORION(TM) Version 4.3.

FORMTEK:ORION is a document and content management system that enables enterprise-wide integration of information systems and sources. The maintenance upgrade includes a new web access interface, enhanced security, improved user management functions and certification of the product with industry standard platform software.

The software release will be provided to all clients and partners with current software maintenance agreements and is now recommended for all new customer implementations and upgrades. Software shipment of the new version will commence in the fourth quarter of 2001.

The upgrade will allow easier software implementation with enhanced security, scalability and ease-of-use, as well as a reduction in the maintenance requirement for organizations self-supporting the application.

"A key element in LMGT's approach to success is to maintain a very focused business solution orientation by actively listening to our clients and building what they really need, not what we think they will need," said Dennis M. Scanlon, vice president of FORMTEK. "This approach has resulted in very large and successful customer implementations and repeatable business solutions for document and content management in markets in which we focus."

This maintenance release offers extended functionality in the following specific areas:
-- FORMTEK:ORION Webportal(TM) - This release provides intuitive and direct
access to the documents stored within the repository for collaboration with
eBusiness applications.

-- Enhanced Security - The FORMTEK:ORION security module has been improved to
address additional processes for extended enterprise needs, including adding
privileges to the editing of object state and providing stronger data type
checks when entering new content.

-- User Management - The ability to make a user active or inactive has been
added, while retaining user profile information and voting history for inactive
users. In addition, password specifications have been enhanced to optionally
check for alphabetic characters with at least one number in the password,
localize character restriction flexibility and increase minimum password
length.

-- Distributed Repository - There is new functionality to seamlessly move
objects (any stored content) from one volume to another for efficient storage
and volume management.

-- Certifications - The FORMTEK:ORION products have been certified to run on
the Microsoft Windows2000 platform, as well as on both the Oracle 8i enterprise
and standard editions.
