Llewellyn began work at Forest Lawn in 1938 and remained active in Forest Lawn's day-to-day operations for more than 50 years. In 1966, he succeeded Forest Lawn's founder, Hubert Eaton, as general manager, president and chief executive officer. In that role, he oversaw the operations of five memorial park locations in Southern California until his son, John, became CEO in 1988.
