LITTLE CAESARS PIZZA CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD CHOSEN
AS A 1992 GOLDEN CHAIN WINNER
DETROIT, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael Ilitch, chairman of the board of Little Caesar Enterprises, Inc., will receive a 1992 Golden Chain Award from Nation's Restaurant News (NRN) at the magazine's Multi-Unit Food Service Operators (MUFSO) conference in Dallas Sept. 22, 1992.
The award recognizes outstanding leadership, recent accomplishments and career achievements among chain executives who have made significant contributions to their companies and to the foodservice industry.
NRN, a restaurant trade publication, chooses six Golden Chain winners each year, and gives its readers the opportunity to vote for an Operator of the Year through ballots in the magazine. The Golden Chain Operator of the Year will be announced at the Dallas convention.
Ilitch opened his first Little Caesars(R) Pizza restaurant in Garden City, Mich., in 1959. The company, based in Detroit, is now the world's largest carry-out pizza chain. With more than 3,950 restaurants in all 50 states, Canada, England and Puerto Rico, the company projects to have 4,575 restaurants open with $2.16 billion in systemwide sales by the end of 1992.
In addition to Ilitch, the other five Golden Chain winners are Jim Near of Wendy's, Rich Melman of Lettuce Entertain You, Ralph Urban of Luby's Cafeterias, Rich Koman of Restaurants Unlimited and Ruth Fertel of Ruth's Chris Steak Houses.
