Rubber process oils

Shellflex oils for the rubber industry are featured in a 12-page, four-color brochure. SF 2310 is a medium viscosity paraffinic oil, said to be ideal for EPDM formulations. SF 2790 is a high viscosity, high flash, low volatility paraffinic oil usually mixed into EPDM rubbers. Shellflex 6212, 6371, 6702, 3681 and 311 represent the company's naphthenic oils. SF 6212 is a high aromatic, low viscosity oil, said to be ideal for styrene butadiene and NR compounds. SF 6371 is a low aromatic, medium viscosity, colorless oil, suited for formulations containing block copolymers. SF 6702 is very similar to SF 6371. Processing insulation

A full-color brochure describes Pyropel polyimide fiberboard insulation, said to be the first insulation developed to meet the stringent demands of rubber and plastics processing. Rigid and lightweight, yet tough and durable, Pyropel is two to four times more effective than other commonly used hardboard thermal insulations and can be used in applications up to 600 [degrees] F (315 [degrees] C), according to the literature. Polyol products

Alcupol flexible, polymeric and rigid polyols are described in company literature. The three brochures describe the grades and applications where each of these product groups best serve the urethane industry. There is an Alcupol polyol to fit most foam, packaging, refrigeration and adhesive applications, according to the literature. Urethane adhesive

Product data sheets are available for H 6210 high performance urethane adhesives. H 6210 is a two-component urethane adhesive that allows the realization of heterogeneous assembling. The product is said to ensure bonding having outstanding mechanical properties (especially peel resistance) in a high range of temperatures, according to the literature. Heat transfer fluid

Color literature illustrates the solution the company's OR heat transfer fluid can offer for sludge formation. The OR fluid is said to offer up to 10 times the oxidation resistance of competitive fluids, according to the literature. Fumed silica grades

Two fumed silicas have been designed specifically for the silicone rubber industry. Aerosil R 104 and Aerosil R 106 are hydrophobic grades treated with a silane that limits the residual hydrochloric acid content. When compared to traditional hydrophobic silicas, these products are said to offer other advantages, such as improved tear resistance, tensile strength and elongation.
