Tensile testing

A case history describes how Rohm & Haas' Building Products Research Division is testing the tensile strength and other properties of experimental polymer-based building products with an advanced benchtop testing machine. For some of the tests, Rohm & Haas is using the H10K-S benchtop universal testing machine (UTM) to better understand how extreme changes in temperature affect the reliability and performance of roof coatings under development. The case history explains the testing procedures for achieving reliable temperature profiles of water-borne, elastomeric roof coating formulations. For tensile testing such as this, an optional hot/cold temperature chamber is used with the 2,000 lbf. (10 kN) capacity S-Series machine. Web tension control

Shore M hardness tester
