LIFETIME Brings Story of Max Factor Heir, Convicted Rapist and Fugitive, Andrew Luster, to Television in 'Against Their Will' (wt); LIFETIME Partnering with RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) and National Center for Victims of Crime to Inform and Support Women on the Issue of Sexual Assault.
"Through his acts of deception and violence, Andrew Luster tragically changed the lives of numerous women. 'Against Their Will' focuses on three of those lives," said Walton. "In an effort to educate and inform our viewers about the danger of rape drugs and help women protect themselves, we will be collaborating with RAINN and the National Center for Victims of Crime."
Based on the original court transcripts, "Against Their Will" follows the story of three different women who thought they met their dream man, Max Factor heir Andrew Luster. What they could not have imagined was that Luster was a sexual predator who would drug them with GHB* (gamma-hydroxybutyrate) and rape them while they were unconscious. Ultimately, it is the powerful testimony of these three women and the emotional devastation they still carry to this day that would lead to Luster's conviction on 86 criminal counts, including rape by use of drugs. Luster, however, fled before his conviction and sentencing of 124 years. He remains on America's Most Wanted list as a fugitive from justice.
"This is the story of how three young women not only survived the ultimate violation, but also how they stood strong together in their testimony to convict a wealthy, playboy, rapist," said Larry A. Thompson, Executive Producer. "I applaud LIFETIME for having the courage to make this movie which will educate women on sexual predators who use drugs as their modern day weapon of choice."
"By sharing this story, LIFETIME is doing a great service, shedding light on the real dangers of GHB and other predatory drugs as well as the impact that sexual assault has on women and their families," said Jamie Zuieback, Communications Director of the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN). "We look forward to working with LIFETIME on this film project so millions of women, especially young women and their families, get the information and resources they want and need."
'Against Their Will' will be an important vehicle to demonstrate to millions of women and men that no matter the circumstances sexual assault is a crime, the victim is never to blame and those who commit it should be held accountable," said Susan Herman, Executive Director, National Center for Victims of Crime. "We are grateful to LIFETIME for choosing to share this important story with its viewers and encouraging other women to speak out."

Bobby Roth directs from a teleplay by Christopher Canaan ("Drug Wars: The Camarena Story," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Robinson Crusoe"). Executive Producer is Larry A.
