LIFE IS A GIFT WELL WORTH GIVING TO OTHERS.

Byline: -- Carol Rock

I remember the first time I gave blood. As big a chicken as I was, this became an event of community-wide interest.

One of the long-time blood drive volunteers was holding one hand, while the Red Cross director was holding the other.

My husband couldn't believe it. Not only were two other men comforting his wife, she was willingly letting a needle come near her arm.

I was the girl who reconsidered marriage because it required a blood test ... the kid who backed into a corner to avoid a booster shot Booster Shot

The name given to the first formal recommendation report issued by an underwriter for an IPO. It is presented in the process of the public offering.

Notes:
The booster shot acts as a way to reinforce attractiveness of the new issue.
... the one who tried to donate blood, only to get woozy at the sight of the sign-in table.

After having three children, I got a serious dose of reality. Nothing the blood-collectors do could trump what a woman goes through to give birth.

Now I'm proud to say that I have one of those little gold gallon gallon: see English units of measurement.  pins, signifying Signifyin' (slang) is an African-American rhetorical device featuring indirect communication or persuasion and the creating of new meanings for old words and signs. Signifying, in this sense, includes repetition and difference, implication and association, combining words and  that I've been a donor for the last 15 years.

Along with that, I have a pink sticker on my drivers' license, which means if something drastic happens to me, my family knows to donate whatever organs can be used to help other people.

I have a dear friend who married later in life and was the happiest bride I've ever seen. The last time I stopped to see the newlywed, I learned that her husband of only a year has liver cancer Liver Cancer Definition

Liver cancer is a relatively rare form of cancer but has a high mortality rate. Liver cancers can be classified into two types.

Partial or complete organ or other body part removed from one site and attached at another. It may come from the same or a different person or an animal. One from the same person—most often a skin graft—is not rejected.
.

The men on the cover, Jerry Guon and Darrell Robb, can tell you something about the gift of life. Both received livers that enabled doctors to cure them. They see their new lives as an opportunity to help others.
