LIBRARY PROMOTES USE OF ONLINE TUTORING PROGRAM.Byline: Daily News The county library is targeting kids in grades 6-12 in a campaign to issue library cards and promote its online tutoring Online tutoring refers to the process by which knowledge is imparted from a tutor, knowledge provider or expert to a student or knowledge recipient over the Internet. Online tutoring has been around almost as long as the Internet and takes the following form: program called Live Homework Help. To participate, teens can visit any county library and register for library cards, or they can go online from any library location for Live Homework Help tutoring sessions at www.librarytutor.org and print out each session before logging off. When the teens get their cards or show a Live Homework Help session printout (PRINTer OUTput) Same as hard copy. , they will receive an entry form for the drawing. Live Homework Help provides online tutors in real time to help with sciences, social studies, English and math assignments. The free service is available in English from 1 to 10 p.m. daily and in Spanish from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. In the last year, more than 20,000 students have used the service.
