MarkVision for IBM's OS/2 Warp 4 Capabilities

MarkVision for IBM's OS/2 Warp 4 builds on the strength of the existing MarkVision family to deliver many unique features not found in other manufacturers' printer management software. MarkVision benefits include:

-- Real-time remote printer access -- Administrators can remotely view or control the operator panel on Lexmark printers from a MarkVision console. MarkVision provides a detailed graphical representation of the printer, whether showing exact location of a paper jam or displaying optional features installed.

-- Efficient alert-driven architecture -- Administrators are notified only when the printer needs attention, reducing network traffic by eliminating the need to continuously poll for status.

-- Distributed printer A computer printer that provides output in a range approximately from 25 to 60 ppm. It is generally considered a higher grade than a network printer and lower than a production printer. IBM typically uses this term. See network printer and production printer.  visibility -- Administrators can simultaneously view a single printer, selected printers, or every printer across the entire network quickly and easily from the MarkVision console.

-- End user and administrator capabilities -- Administrators can view and configure networked Lexmark printers, while end users can view printer status and settings.

-- Cost-saving management reports -- MarkVision gathers extensive job statistics such as user name, printer identification, job duration, and pages printed, empowering managers to analyze printer usage and intelligently allocate the costs of supplies and maintenance.
