LETTERS TO L.A. LIFE REMEMBERING O'CONNOR.

I was saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Carroll O'Connor John Carroll O'Connor (August 2, 1924 – June 21, 2001) was an American actor, most famous for his portrayal of the character Archie Bunker in the television sitcoms All in the Family (1971-1979) and Archie Bunker's Place (1979-1983). . I feel privileged to have not only met this dear, gentle man, but worked with him back in the early 1980s.

We had first met while I was visiting L.A., in my midteens. He was absolutely charming, warm, polite and blunt and had the most unforgettable blue eyes Blue eyes are eyes that have blue irises (see eye color), and may also refer to:
  • IBM have a project named "BlueEyes" to develop computational devices that mimic perception.
  • Old blue eyes is also a common reference to Frank Sinatra and Sven-Göran Eriksson.
I had ever seen. A few years later, we spoke again on the set of his series, enjoying a few laughs and anecdotes about Hollywood. I spoke to him on three other occasions, and, as always, found him to be such a gentleman with a great sense of humor Noun 1. sense of humor - the trait of appreciating (and being able to express) the humorous; "she didn't appreciate my humor"; "you can't survive in the army without a sense of humor"
sense of humour, humor, humour
.

I applauded his efforts to openly take on the drug dealer/killer who sold the drugs that inevitably killed his beloved son, Hugh. Thankfully, I have taped interviews of Mr. O'Connor on ``Larry King Live Larry King Live is a nightly CNN interview program hosted by broadcaster and writer Larry King. The show premiered in 1985, and is CNN's most watched program, with over one million viewers nightly. ,'' etc., and have wonderful memories of a sweet Irishman I was fortunate enough to meet. To Nancy O'Connor, my thoughts and prayers are with you, and I'll light a candle for you and your dear husband. Take care of yourself. As Carroll once said, ``If you want to save your kid's life, get between him and drugs!''
