LETTERS TO L.A. LIFE LEE GUILTY OF CRIME HE CONDEMNS.

Re: ``Spike Lee serves up a strange, powerful fruit'' and ``Shock value'' (L.A. Life, Oct. 6): Spike Lee wanted to show and provoke constructive public discussion about the entertainment industry's moguls' continued racist images and manipulations to portray and degrade black people, but he was dead wrong in his approach with his new film, ``Bamboozled.''

To make more money, Lee must expand his audience market, and chances are whites will buy his film, like hot cakes, when it comes out on video. It is his desire for life to imitate art, his movie's story.

There is no honor or glory in his stupid approach to an American cancer because this misguided fellow is just another Hollywood bamboozler- filmmaker who will do anything to humiliate black people to make money.
