LETTERS TO L.A. LIFE HARRISON WILL BE MISSED.The world has lost another prophet, George Harrison. I first heard about it on the news and wistfully watched the gathering at Strawberry Fields, in Central Park, New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of . Fans were all playing and singing songs, such as ``All You Need Is Love,'' ``Something'' and ``Here Comes the Sun,'' my personal favorite. It brought me back to my grammar school days, 30 years ago, when I played those beautiful 16th notes on the flute to an audience of Beatle fans. I was only 10 at the time, but I was one of millions immersed in Beatlemania, day and night, listening to my older brother and his garage band playing their songs. I always admired and often followed George's spiritual journey; I studied and practice Transcendental Meditation Transcendental Meditation, service mark for a religious movement based on Vedanta philosophy, founded by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Stressing natural meditation and the liberating pleasures such practices could invoke, the movement's meditation method is believed to help , I learned all about the sitar sitar (sĭtär`), fretted string instrument with a gourdlike body and a long neck, similar to the lute. It has from 3 to 7 gut strings, tuned in fourths or fifths (or both), and a lower course of 12 wire strings that vibrate sympathetically with and Indian music Indian music, of India: see Hindu music. and culture, and vividly remember the Concert for Bangladesh in New York that was made into a documentary. It was so unfortunate that he had to suffer from not only a crazed fan, who stabbed him, but the many battles with cancer that he finally succumbed to. Now, when I listen to George's songs, and the Beatles' songs, I sit back and remember the joy, love and hope I felt throughout my life, that this prophet so generously gave to us. We've lost two peaceful, gentle Beatles now. I can only ``Imagine'' George and John Lennon Noun 1.
