Give us a break! Is everyone ignorant to the fact that Martha Stewart <noinclude></noinclude>

Martha Stewart (born Martha Helen Kostyra on August 3, 1941) is an American business magnate, author, editor and homemaking advocate. She is also a former stockbroker and fashion model.
 (L.A. Life, Jan. 17) is a self-made marketing phenomenon, rather than an expert on homemaking home·mak·er

 and entertaining?

Women have been preparing sumptuous meals, keeping beautiful houses/gardens and making handicraft handicraft: see arts and crafts.  items since the beginning of time. Martha Stewart simply developed a way of packaging and marketing age-old skills, turning these techniques into a mega empire.

My particular gripe gripe

To have sharp pains in the bowels.

 is that everyone must know that when Martha goes into her yard to plant a row of asparagus asparagus, perennial garden vegetable (Asparagus officinalis) of the family Liliaceae (lily family), native to the E Mediterranean area and now naturalized over much of the world.  for her TV show, the moment the camera stops there is an army of gardeners to finish the job! Not to mention, her attitude is deplorable. She invites experts to her program who specialize in a variety of skills - and then she takes over and treats them deplorably.

Though Martha's early shows were somewhat entertaining, her more recent endeavors have been idiotic. Offerings have included ``How to Make a Bed'' and ``The Proper Method of Stacking Wood.'' I would think that Ms. Stewart should be grateful, regardless of what is being said, people are talking about her at all!

Your suggestions that ``imitation is the sincerest form of flattery'' should be well taken. Jean Smart and Judith Light Judith Light (born Judith Ellen Licht on February 9, 1949) is an Emmy Award-winning American actress. She is best known for her role as Angela Bower on the ABC sitcom Who's the Boss?. She can now be seen playing Claire Meade on ABC's Ugly Betty.  have personalities that lend a lot of charisma to an obviously self-absorbed, one-dimensional Martha - especially when discussing something as mundane as putting trim on a lampshade!

`ER' needs a bigger berth than pricey `Titanic' film

It's incredible that in just one month, the movie ``Titanic'' has more than recouped its huge production cost of over $200 million. And it's wonderful.
