LETTERS SAFETY FIRST FOR SHUTTLE PROGRAM.

The safety of the astronauts would be put in jeopardy jeopardy, in law, condition of a person charged with a crime and thus in danger of punishment. At common law a defendant could be exposed to jeopardy for the same offense only once; exposing a person twice is known as

double jeopardy.
if the shuttle maintenance were put off for years, or if the project were moved to Florida. If Florida does the work, they don't have the experts and knowledge that Palmdale has developed over the life of the space shuttle space shuttle, reusable U.S. space vehicle. Developed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), it consists of a winged orbiter, two solid-rocket boosters, and an external tank.  program.

Florida has been trying for years to get the shuttle program moved there. The politicians in Florida have been flexing their power year in and year out to get the program moved out of California.

Palmdale has the expert mechanics, electricians and other experts who perform the needed modifications year in and year out. They are the ones who have always put the safety of the astronauts first. At Boeing Space Shuttle Division Palmdale, we are proud of our safety program that has kept our astronauts safe in outer space and also on the ground.

The astronauts come to visit the Boeing Space Shuttle Division in Palmdale frequently and speak highly of the shuttle mechanics. They express their gratitude Gratitude

Moving the shuttle program to Florida would be a mistake. NASA NASA: see National Aeronautics and Space Administration.

Boeing in Palmdale has an excellent safety record. This is not so in the Florida program. Florida has had some major problems with safety.

NASA has created a $5 billion over-budget problem. Recently NASA spent $1.67 million on two rockets that blew up. This amount of money would have been enough to cycle two of the shuttle orbiters through the Palmdale Boeing Space Shuttle Division.
