LETTERS NO TWO TRACY 'BOYS TOWN' OSCARS.

I read with great interest Valerie Kuklenski's ``Outrageous Moments'' on Spencer Tracy's Oscar donation to Boys Town (U, March 16). While this is a fun story we have heard time and again, the only part of it that isn't legend is Father Flanagan's great work, which is alive and well here in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Centered on the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego, Southern California is home to nearly 24 million people and is the nation's second most populated region,  and across the country, and Spencer Tracy's Oscar donation.

Our headquarters in Nebraska has confirmed with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that only one Academy Award was presented to Spencer Tracy. The first actor to receive back-to-back Oscars as best actor added a small plaque to the statue and sent it to Father Flanagan in a special wooden box. Both are on display in the original Village of Boys Town in Nebraska, along with a film clip Noun 1. film clip - a strip of motion picture film used in a telecast

Spencer Tracy's family also has verified this information, and they remain active in helping Father Flanagan's award-winning work here in Southern California.
