LETTERS IT'S ELEMENTARY: HE'S A DEAR WATSON.

In an era of big-time, big-money, big-ego athletes, let me relate a brief encounter with Tom Watson.

I was at the Seniors SBC (1) (SBC Communications Inc., San Antonio, TX, www.sbc.com) A large, national telecommunications company that grew from a multitude of local and regional companies, including Southwestern Bell, Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell, into a single, unified brand by 2002.  tournament at Valencia CC this past Saturday with my wife and 5 1/2-year-old son. My son was dying for an autograph, but we unfortunately missed Tom after the round due to the crowds around him. He waited heartbroken heart·bro·ken

I went in the clubhouse entryway with my son, and my wife happened to be in the parking lot when Tom Watson was getting in his courtesy car courtesy car nvettura sostitutiva . ``My son has been looking for Looking for

Tom could've left, he could've ignored her, he could've said sorry. Instead, he drove through the parking lot, over to the clubhouse, got out of his car, asked my son his name, signed his visor and chatted with him and posed for pictures.

This after just finishing an incredibly tough round, taking the lead in the tournament, meeting the press and needing to get some rest. I was thrilled for my son, but more than that I was happy to see there are still class acts like Tom in the sporting world. We need more like him.
